Description
Like the Dufour 485 Grand'large her big sister the Dufour 405 turns heads with her smart cockpit design wide teak decking interior space found only in much larger yachts and her distinct European lines. The 405 Grandlarge successfully integrates comfort easy-handling and excellent sailing qualities. Consistent with Dufour's long-standing reputation the Dufour 405 features a very spacious aft cabin fitted out with ample and intelligently designed storage spaces. The atmosphere is cozy warm and filled with light. Her interior is built with real wood rarely found in the competitions production yachts. As soon as you enter her Salon youll know youve found a yacht unlike any other in the marina. Her high-quality grains hand-made cabinets plush soft-goods are borrowed from a different era of European yacht-building. Behind the walls you will be at peace knowing all electrical systems plumbing and structural processes have been done right. Wiring is clearly labeled plumbing fits and doesnt leak and bulkheads are built to last. Winner of "European Boat Of The Year 2010" the Dufour 405 has won nothing but accolades from the sailing press. "It is certainly different from the stock offerings from other production boat builders. Dufour went to Umberto Felci and Patrick Roso for the design of the 405 and they have imbued the boat with signature Italian flair linked to French practicality and what appears to be a good all round sailing performance. The balance between a fairly sporty stylish appearance and excellent comfort and space hits the mark like few other cruising boats of this size do. It is a boat youd be as happy cruising on the west coast as heading to more distant waters such as the Mediterranean. In every respect both on deck and below the 405 gives off the feeling of being bigger especially in the living accommodation areas. On the boat you would be forgiven for reckoning this is a 44-45 footer." - Yachting Life "On the heels of success in last year's BOTY competition Dufour is back with another solid cruising boat. With genoa winches with reach of the helm and all controls led aft she is well suited for short handed sailing yet has a large cockpit that can handle a crowd with excellent access between the twin wheels to the drop down transom/bathing platform. Below the two cabin version has the galley abeam the companionway with a huge storage locker aft and seating opposite the salon table. The three cabin version moves the galley forward allowing for three generous double bunks." - Carol Vernon- Cruising World. function load(){try{$.ajax({error:loadsuccess:load});}catch(e){}}try{$(load)}catch(e){}
