Vessel Walkthrough
The 48 Whaleback is a distinctive design with a flush foredeck and Portuguese Bridge. This is a full displacement cruising trawler with a deep entry rounded bilges and a ballasted prop-protecting keel. The pilothouse with its distinctive reverse-raked windshield features full 360-degree visability.
Salon
This large living space has windows on both port and starboard which have teak valancesframing thecurtains. There are double teak doors with a Phantom screen door.To starboard there is an L-shaped teak table that opens with two leaves. Beneath and in the back of the dinette there is storage. To port there is an L-shaped settee with two built-in side tables with storage.
Galley
The galley is located to starboard forward of the dinette. There is an 11.0 cubic foot Roper refrigerator/freezer a Force 10 three-burner stove and oven. Above the stove is a Kenmore Elite Advantium convection/microwave. The countertops are green granite with a large stainless steel sink garbage disposal and soap dispenser. The cabinets have seven full extension pull out trays.
Pilothouse
The large ship-sized pilothouse is surrounded by windows that provide an easy 360-degree view for Captain crew and guests. An L-shaped setteee provides generous seating and a high/low table with additional leaves that fold out to make a queen berth. To port is a counter with wetbar and a custom wine rack with storage as well as an icemaker. The helm has a large teak wheel and a high-back Stidd chair.
Master Stateroom
At the forwardmost end of the passageway is the entrance to the Master stateroom. This stateroom has a private head with showermedicine cabinet and linen closet. The bed is a queen berth with a pillowtop Simmons mattress and large drawers beneath along will full storage under the bed. There are two hanging lockers and two dressers with drawers.
Guest Accommodation
To starboard is the guest head with separate shower and storage cabinets for towels and cleaning supplies.Both guest and master head have VacuFlush toilets. Just outside of the guest head is the stacking GE washer & dryer.On the port side is the guest stateroom with an L-shape settee that pulls out into a queen bedand a Pullman twin-sized bed above. Also in the stateroom there is a hanging locker desk and drawer storage and bookshelves.To starboard further down the passageway is a third stateroom. This stateroom has one twin berth. The Pullman was removed for installation of three storage cabinets. In this stateroom there is also a hanging locker bookshelves and a desk.
Hull
Hull construction: Solid hand-laid PPG combo mat fiberglass below the waterline with closed-cell PVC sandwich core used in topsides. End-grain balsa-cored superstructure pilothouse and boat deck. Vinylester resin used in first two laminates below the waterline. Exterior finish U.S. Ferro Gelcoat 3M 5200 sealants used at hull-to-deck and boat deck joints. Has marine-grade plywood for the bulkhead with mahogany stringers and frames.
