1972 Pearson Yachts 390 Center Cockpit Sloop

In 1971 William Shaw designed and Pearson starting building the 390 for the booming charter market. The 1st 20 out of about 40 built were sold for that purpose. The popular flush deck, deep center cockpit and modified shoal draft fin keel with centerboard and full skeg protected rudder made an economical and delightful live-aboard and strong cruising vessel for two couples or a large family. This boat was heavily built from hand laid fiberglass and offers a huge all side access engine room and up to 6?7? head room in the salon with a walk over to the private aft stateroom with insuite head. When the cockpit has a full enclosure it acts like another living space giving the vessel the roominess of a 50 footer and it has a huge cockpit table for dining outside. The aft cabin has a hatch and two transom ports providing great ventilation as well as housing a large chart table for the over 100 charts that come with the boat. The interior is a molded fiberglass shell so there is very little teak to maintain and the galley offers abundant storage and a huge refrigerator for cruising comfort. The U-shaped dinette has a drop down table and converts to a large double berth offering storage under the cushions and behind the back cushions. Amistad comes with davits to hold 1 of the 2 dinghies, a full aluminum arch to hold the solar panel, wind generator, twin outboard engine lifts and anything else desired like radar and more. This current owner is a professional captain and has lived aboard for 20 yrs. He has refurbished over time most everything on board and in 2012 Awl gripped the entire boat, repainted the bottom and rebuilt the centerboard system.
